We got up around 6 a.m. on Sunday morning for our long trip. The trip to the Philadelphia airport was a easy. There aren't many people on the roads at 8 a.m. Sunday morning. The wait at TSA was long, but we had enough time to pick up a quick breakfast. (see below).

Then a changeover in Atlanta (we just caught our flight in time again), and a few hours later we were in New Orleans.

There were free movies on board and I just managed to finish one as we taxied toward the gate in Atlanta. I had it timed to the minute but then the pilot kept interrupting with announcements, which automatically delayed the movie. Thank goodness the original time included about five minutes of movie credits at the end.
On the way to getting baggage in New Orleans, I noticed a Limo driver holding a sign that said "Kriebel." How many Kriebels can there be in New Orleans, right? I asked him who he was waiting for and he told me it was none of my business, as he was waiting for a woman. I asked the first name of the woman and he said "never mind, it's none of your business." Finally, I called Ann over and it was indeed for her. I introduced myself as her probation officer and asked if I could come along.
The hotel is very nice and we have a suite. More about that later.
When we arrived, we were very hungry. We did some research and found a nice Mexican restaurant within walking distance that had very good reviews. We headed over and it was one of the best Mexican restaurants we had ever visited.

Totally exhausted, we turned in early. The convention starts on Monday the 25th.

Congrats to Ann, becoming president! How about Ann for President of the United States?
ReplyDeleteBob, you should become a restaurant critic!
ReplyDeleteWe recommend the Safta Restaurant! The head chef is Alon Shaya. He grew up in Lower Merion. He won the James Beard Award. He is the son of Green Hill resident Alysa Shaya. (Don't confuse the Safta restaurant with the Shaya Restaurant, which is under different ownership.) https://www.eatwithsafta.com/alon-shaya
